How does it work?

During the process of releasing crankcase pressure back by your intake track, excessive amounts of oil vapors can coat your blower rotors, intake valves, and intercooler fins and even dilute your gas, lowering its octane level. This occurs on all engines and is exacerbated when supercharged and turbocharged, as crankcase pressures rise. To overcome this, we designed our own oil separator. This component is made of pure billet aluminum and is quite durable. It features a knurled tank base for simple removal to drain spent oil and an O-ring seal to prevent leakage.

Filtering consists of a fine-mesh stainless steel screen that captures fine oil vapors and releases them when they get heavy enough to fall. They then pass through a 1/2″ thick, 1/16″ aluminum honeycomb filter, where they grow larger and eventually fall to the bottom. By the time the oil passes through the filter, it is too heavy to be passed into the intake. The tank carries 3 oz of fluid, which may not seem like much, but you should not notice that much oil in your PCV system. Drain it every 2000–3000 miles and you’ll never get close to filling it.
